https://jurnal.asy-syukriyyah.ac.id/Asy-Syukriyyah/article/view/893

The interpretation of the Holy Quran, as a foundational text in Islam, has been approached through diverse methodologies throughout history. Among the prominent methods in contemporary Quranic studies are the Tahlili (analytical) and Maudhu’i (thematic) approaches. This study undertakes a comprehensive comparative analysis of these two significant methods, examining their definitions, historical evolution, key characteristics, inherent strengths, and limitations. By employing a qualitative descriptive literature study methodology, this research synthesizes information from a broad spectrum of scholarly sources including academic journals, critical essays, and authoritative texts, thereby providing a nuanced understanding of each method. The findings reveal that the Tahlili approach is characterized by its meticulous verse-by-verse examination, offering a detailed and systematic interpretation that pays close attention to linguistic, contextual, and historical details. In contrast, the Maudhu’i approach adopts a topic-centric framework, enabling interpreters to draw thematic connections across different sections of the Quran, which can be particularly useful for addressing contemporary issues and deriving lessons for modern society. While both methods have distinct contributions to the field of Quranic exegesis, this study also identifies potential drawbacks, such as the risk of fragmentation in the analytical method and possible oversimplification in the thematic approach. Ultimately, this comparative analysis contributes valuable insights for researchers and students in Islamic studies, highlighting the importance of methodological plurality in deepening our understanding of the Quran
Sofian Effendi

https://jurnal.asy-syukriyyah.ac.id/Asy-Syukriyyah/article/view/1629

Islamic political discourse frequently ignores the practical aspects of governance itself in favor of normative discussions about the ideal structure of the state. Taqiyuddin Ahmad ibn Taimiyah’s ideas provide a radical yet practical viewpoint amid the contemporary crisis of leadership and public official morality. The purpose of this article is to reconstruct Ibn Taimiyah’s idea of Siyasah Syar’iyyah, with a focus on the doctrine of the “strong and capable leader” (al-qawiy al-amin) as opposed to the “pious but weak leader.” This study examines Ibn taimiyah’s masterpiece, As-Siyasah as-Syar’iyyah fi Ishlah ar-Ra’i wa ar-Ra’iyyah, using a qualitative method with a historical hermeneutics approach. The finding show that Ibn Taimiyah desacralized the caliphate institution; according to him, a leader’s legitimacy is based on two meritocratic factors: technical skill (quwwah) and moral integrity (amanah), rather than just Quraysh ancestry or the formality of allegiance. This idea, which emphasizes that the state’s objective is the enforcement of legal justice rather than just religious symbolism, is highly relevant as a critique of transactional politics and nepotism in modern democracies.
Ali Rif'anAsila Maysa FatihahAgus Nilmada Azmi

https://jurnal.asy-syukriyyah.ac.id/Asy-Syukriyyah/article/view/1665

This study examines Hamdani Bakran adz-Dzakiey’s thought in Prophetic Intelligence, which offers a Sufi-psychological approach to Hadith interpretation. Utilizing a qualitative-descriptive method with an interdisciplinary framework (Hadith Studies and Islamic Psychology), this research analyzes how Hadith is transformed into an instrument for spiritual health. The findings reveal that Hamdani positions Prophet Muhammad PBUH as the prototype of prophetic intelligence through a dual-layered interpretation: exoteric (linguistic and legal analysis) and esoteric (inward meaning for soul purification). Distinguishing himself from textualist trends, Hamdani contextualizes Hadiths on aqidah and sharia as foundations for spiritual well-being. This interpretive pattern demonstrates a methodological distinction that bridges formal text with spiritual depth, ensuring relevance for modern mental development. As a Sufi practitioner, Hamdani successfully integrates Hadith authority into spiritual counseling without neglecting the exoteric meaning, providing a holistic framework for contemporary spiritual-psychological health.
Dzikri NirwanaHanafi HanafiNajib IrsyadiSaifuddin SaifuddinTri Hermawan Aini

https://jurnal.asy-syukriyyah.ac.id/Asy-Syukriyyah/article/view/1666

This study investigates the influence of integrating Al-Qur'an values in the school curriculum on the formation of anti-radicalism character among students in Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. Using a quantitative research approach with a survey methodology, data were collected from 320 students across five Islamic junior and senior high schools in Jakarta and its surrounding areas. Instruments included a validated questionnaire measuring the level of Al-Qur'an values integration (as the independent variable) and the anti-radicalism character formation scale (as the dependent variable). Data analysis employed Pearson correlation, simple linear regression, and multiple regression techniques. The results demonstrate a significant positive influence of Al-Qur'an values integration on anti-radicalism character formation, with a regression coefficient (β = 0.612, p < 0.01) and an R² value of 0.487, indicating that 48.7% of the variance in anti-radicalism character is explained by Al-Qur'an curriculum integration. The findings affirm that dimensions such as tawassuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), tawazun (balance), and i'tidal (fairness) embedded in the curriculum significantly contribute to shaping students' resistance to radical ideologies. This research contributes to the theoretical and practical discourse on curriculum-based character education in countering radicalism within Islamic educational institutions.
Umi Sa'adahAgus Nur Qowim

This research is motivated by the difficulties experienced by students in learning Islamic Cultural History (SKI) at MTs Zia Salsabila. Observations and interviews indicate that students frequently struggle to memorize the material, feel weary and bored during the learning process, and exhibit low concentration. Furthermore, students' low interest in reading SKI textbooks also affects their understanding of the subject matter. This study aims to analyze the forms of student difficulties, student comprehension, and the factors causing learning difficulties in Islamic Cultural History at MTs Zia Salsabila. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques consisting of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that students' difficulties include easily forgetting the material, feelings of boredom and fatigue while studying, and low learning concentration. https://jurnal.asy-syukriyyah.ac.id/Asy-Syukriyyah/article/view/1767

The implementation of non-violent discipline has become an essential demand in education following the policy on the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Educational Institutions (PPKSP). However, its implementation in classroom settings still faces challenges, particularly related to teachers’ ability to regulate emotions and respond to student misconduct constructively. This study aims to formulate a model of teachers’ emotional regulation and assertive communication in implementing non-violent discipline. This research employed an exploratory qualitative approach, with data collected through open-ended questionnaires distributed via Google Forms to teachers. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and meanings from teachers’ experiences. The findings reveal that non-violent discipline is implemented through a structured process involving emotional regulation, assertive communication, and educational consequences. Based on these findings, this study proposes a model consisting of three main stages: internal regulation, assertive communication, and educational consequences. This model highlights that teachers’ emotional regulation serves as the foundation for creating firm, humane, and character-oriented discipline in the classroom.
Ikram ShiddiqSabran SabranMowafg Masuwd

https://jurnal.asy-syukriyyah.ac.id/Asy-Syukriyyah/article/view/1740

This qualitative case study examines how the Teacher’s Code of Ethics shapes student character development at SDN Bugih 3 Pamekasan, focusing on Islamic Education teachers’ internalization of professional values. Data were collected via in-depth interviews with experienced teachers (8–10 years). Findings indicate that the code is implemented not as mere administrative compliance, but as a compassion-based authority and a “living curriculum” rooted in Uswatun Hasanah. Consistent alignment between teachers’ words and actions fosters student trust, shifting compliance from fear-driven obedience to autonomous moral awareness and reducing bullying. However, heavy administrative workloads and inconsistent home parenting styles hinder sustained character transformation. Consequently, this study recommends developing an integrated character ecosystem through strategic school–parent collaboration and optimizing teacher psychological well-being to maintain ethical exemplarity.
Sofia NingsihGita Puspita SariMaria UlfaAldiky Rachman FirdausiAbd. https://jurnal.asy-syukriyyah.ac.id/Asy-Syukriyyah/article/view/1778

This study aims to describe how Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at MAN 1 Pamekasan implement their professional ethics and employ exemplary methods to foster religious character among students. This study employs a qualitative method, gathering data through observation, interviews, and document review. Primary data were obtained directly from teachers and students, whereas secondary data were sourced from pertinent documents and literature. The results indicate that PAI teachers at MAN 1 Pamekasan embody professional ethics through behaviors such as honesty, accountability, empathy, and attentiveness to students, all rooted in Quranic principles. Teachers implement the role-modeling approach by exemplifying good conduct in classroom instruction and everyday religious practices, including group prayers, Quran reading sessions, and fostering school-wide religious routines. Obstacles encountered encompass inconsistent teacher behaviors, limited student engagement, off-campus external factors, insufficient parental participation, excessive focus on cognitive learning, and adverse effects of technology. Thus, the ongoing practice of professional ethics via exemplary modeling by PAI teachers is essential for cultivating students' religious character.
Erin Dwi YuniawatiCyntia Ela MaghfiraRiyadhotis SholihahSiti JuwairiyahAbd.
