ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to identify, analyze, and formulate educational methods derived from the Qur'an as a fundamental foundation for Islamic educational practices. Based on the premise that the Qur'an is a guide to life, this study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a thematic study approach (mawdhu'i) on Qur'anic verses relevant to the concept of education and teaching. The results of this study show that the Qur'an presents a variety of educational methods that are very relevant and contextual, which can be classified into three main categories: (1) Cognitive-Intellectual Method, including the methods of tadabbur (contemplation), tadrīb (practice), and hiwar (discussion/dialogue); (2) Affective-Spiritual Method, including the methods of mau'izhah hasanah (good advice), uswah hasanah (exemplary behavior), and qishshah (story/narrative); and (3) Psychomotor-Applicative Method, which is emphasized through the methods of amal shalih (real practice) and rihlah/siyahah (field observation). The conclusion is that the Qur'anic educational method is holistic, integrative, and comprehensive, focusing on the formation of a perfect human being (insan kamil) with a balance of spiritual, intellectual, and socio-emotional intelligence. The theoretical implication is that Islamic educational institutions need to systematically internalize these methods to achieve educational goals oriented toward fostering and forming Islamic character.

Zubairi Zubairi

Water is one of the fundamental elements of life that holds not only biological significance but also theological and spiritual dimensions as emphasized in the Qur’an. This study aims to thematically analyze the concept of water (mā’) in the Qur’an by examining its meanings, functions, and inherent values, as well as its implications for human and environmental life. Employing a qualitative, literature-based approach through the tafsir maudhu’i (thematic interpretation) method, this research involves collecting and analyzing Qur’anic verses that discuss water, both explicitly and symbolically. The data were derived from classical and contemporary sources, including authoritative tafsir works and scholarly publications related to Islamic eco-theology. The findings reveal that water in the Qur’an encompasses three principal dimensions of meaning: first, as a manifestation of Allah’s mercy and power that signifies creation and sustenance; second, as a medium of physical and spiritual purification affirming the importance of purity in the human-divine relationship; and third, as a symbol of ecological balance that underscores humanity’s responsibility as khalifah (steward) to preserve environmental sustainability. These findings affirm that the Qur’anic conception of water extends beyond its physical essence, serving as a moral and ethical foundation for nurturing Islamic ecological consciousness and providing a normative framework for developing sustainability and environmental conservation paradigms in the modern context.
Jaya Sukmana

This study aims to analyze the role of student administration in supporting the success of the learning process in educational institutions through a narrative literature review approach. Student administration serves as an essential element of educational management, encompassing the processes of recording, managing, and providing systematic student data services from admission to graduation. This research collects and synthesizes various academic studies from national and international journals to identify patterns, roles, and contributions of student administration to learning effectiveness. The analysis was conducted using content analysis and narrative synthesis to identify key themes such as the effectiveness of student data systems, the role of administrative staff, the utilization of information technology, and the integration between administrative management and pedagogical activities. The findings reveal that well-managed student administration plays a significant role in enhancing the efficiency of learning processes, strengthening coordination among school components, and supporting data-driven decision-making for quality improvement in education. These results emphasize that student administration is not merely an administrative function but a strategic instrument in achieving learning goals and educational quality management. The study contributes theoretically by expanding the understanding of the relationship between administration and learning effectiveness, and provides practical recommendations for educational institutions to strengthen data- and technology-based administrative systems as an integral part of modern learning governance.
Anita Rahmayani Rambe, Riri Luftia Risky, Ali Mustopa Yakub Simbolon, Neyna Mahfuzi, Dinda Tri Juita

https://jurnal.asy-syukriyyah.ac.id/cendekia/article/view/1571

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SDIT Sultan Alfatih and to analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors as well as its influence on students’ engagement and learning outcomes. The research stems from the fact that PAI learning at the elementary level often remains teacher-centered and cognitively oriented, thereby limiting active participation and the development of students’ critical thinking skills. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research seeks to gain an in-depth understanding of the PBL implementation process. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis of lesson plans and student learning outcomes. Data analysis was conducted interactively through reduction, presentation, and verification using source and method triangulation to enhance validity. The results show that implementing PBL in PAI learning significantly increases students’ active engagement, fosters critical and reflective thinking skills, and strengthens the internalization of Islamic values in real-life contexts. Supporting factors include teacher readiness, principal support, and a collaborative learning environment, while major obstacles involve time constraints, varying student readiness, and limited contextual learning resources. This study contributes to the development of constructivist-based Islamic education practices by proposing an adaptive PBL implementation model suited to the context of Islamic elementary education, providing pedagogical implications for innovation in faith-based schools.
Rahmanisa Ayuningtyas

https://jurnal.asy-syukriyyah.ac.id/cendekia/article/view/1676

Character education is a vital pillar in cultivating an ethical and integrity-driven civilization, particularly amidst an increasingly complex global moral crisis. The Qur’an, as a source of universal values, offers a distinctive approach to character education through prophetic narratives, one of which is the dialogue between Prophet Ibrahim and his people. This study aims to examine the structure of didactic communication within this dialogue and explore the embedded character education values. Employing a narrative literature review approach with content and thematic analysis, this research utilizes primary sources from Qur’anic verses and secondary sources including classical and modern exegesis, academic journals, and relevant scholarly books. The findings reveal that Prophet Ibrahim’s dialogue embodies a communicative structure that is argumentative, persuasive, and educationally effective in fostering values such as monotheism, critical thinking, patience, moral steadfastness, and empathy. His communication strategy presents a Qur’anic pedagogical model that is dialogical and transformative, offering values highly relevant to contemporary educational challenges. This study contributes conceptually to the development of character education theory within the Islamic framework, while also proposing a model of didactic communication applicable to various educational contexts. Moreover, it opens avenues for further exploration of other prophetic narratives as a foundation for value-based education rooted in divine revelation.

Aris Setyawan, Aan Hafilius
